St. Augustine Ladies' Guild
The Ladies Guild was established in 1968, and began with 26 members. Membership is open to all ladies of the parish. Our meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, September through May. Members meet at 7:00pm in the church hall. Meetings are under one hour, and are followed by a 50/50 raffle and refreshments.
The purpose of the Ladies Guild is to bring the ladies of our parish together to support our church and community needs.
Annual Events include:
In November: The Guild sponsors the Annual Harvest Bazaar. This has always been an important fundraiser for our parish.
In December:
We hold our Annual Christmas Party for all members and ladies of the parish. Along with a delicious dinner, there is a gift swap.
In March:
We hold our Annual Penny Social. We alternate the location of the event each year with the Plainfield Ladies Guild from St. John’s Parish. Each hosting Guild is responsible for refreshments and each member brings an item or two for the penny social table. These items are raffled off along with a door prize which completes a fun evening of fellowship, socialization and refreshments between our two guilds.
In the Spring:
We hold our Annual Rummage Sale which is always well attended by the community.
May is our last meeting of the year. At this meeting, our new officers are sworn in. The swearing in of the new officers is followed by a potluck supper and the enjoyment of each other's company.
Membership dues are only $2.00/yr.
Meeting attendance is optional.
