Love of stitching and community are combined with in this ministry that reaches out with hand-stitched and personally delivered shawls as tangible as God's enfolding love.
The stitchers begin each shawl with prayer. Each completed shawl is blessed by the group before being delivered.
The idea of shawl ministry began in 1998 with two graduates of the Women's Leadership Institute at the Hartford (CT) Seminary. There are now groups of many faith traditions throughout the country and the world.
